Richard Neuworth has been handling disability, personal injury, and employment and employee benefits litigation for more than thirty-five (35) years. He has extensive experience in employee benefit, discrimination, harassment, personal injury, workers' compensation, personal injury, and social security disability cases. He has successfully represented individuals and groups of employees in significant employment disputes. He is an AV preeminent rated attorney. He is listed in Best Lawyers in America in Labor and Employment Law in 2010-2015. He is also listed in Super Lawyers Top 100 for 2020. In 2018, the Daily Record named him as a Leader in the Law.Richard is a graduate of George Washington University and the University of Baltimore Law School. He is general counsel to employee organizations and associations. Richard is a member of the American Bar Association – Labor and Employment Section, Maryland State Bar Association Labor and Employment Section – Section Council since 2006, Elder Law – Section Council since 2011 (served as Chair in 2016-2017), Maryland Pattern Jury Instruction Committee since October 2013, Maryland State Bar Association Committee on Laws since 2008, Maryland Association of Justice – Board of Governors and Executive Committee, Baltimore City Bar Association and National Employment Lawyers Association. He is the co-editor in chief of the Trial Reporter of the Maryland Association for Justice from 2006 through 2015 and the American Association for Justice. He has presented on the subject of the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 and the Americans for Disabilities Act of 1990 to the Maryland State Bar Association Convention in June 2006. He has also presented on the same subjects to Lorman Institute seminars in Maryland in 2001 and 2006.He has presented on the federal and state False Claims Act, wage and hour issues under federal and state law and tax issues, and employment for the Maryland State Bar Association. He has presented on the subject of Social Security Disability to NBI Institute seminars in 2009,2010, and 2011. He has lectured on disability benefits and employment issues to diverse groups such as the National MS Society, Alzheimer’s Association, Hopewell, Lymphoma and Leukemia Society of Maryland, and Lupus Foundation. He has also lectured on the subject of Social Security disability and Maryland Workers Compensation law to the same groups. He is an adjunct lecturer on both employment law and social security disability as part of the elder law course at the University of Maryland Law School from 2005 to the present. His publications include course materials sponsored by the Maryland Institute of Continuing Professional Legal Education for Lawyers (MICPEL) on both the subjects of Employment Law and Social Security Disability. His materials on ERISA and Medicare liens were also part of programs sponsored by the Maryland Association of Justice. He has published articles in the Maryland State Bar Association, (3) Trial Magazine (2) and the Trial Reporter of the Maryland Association of Justice on varied topics that include Social Security Disability, Medicare, the Medicare Secondary Payer Act and the private cause of action, Employee Termination under the False Claims Act, ERISA Liens and Personal Injury Actions, Sexual Harassment, ERISA and Personal Injury Actions
