Kaylin L. Whittingham is the founder and managing attorney of Whittingham Law—a Legal Ethics Firm that protects the reputation and livelihood of lawyers and judges. She is a lawyer’s lawyer and counsels her clients on professional responsibility and risk management. Prior to private practice, Kaylin served as Counsel at the Attorney Grievance Committee, First Judicial Department where she investigated and prosecuted a wide array of professional misconduct cases. Prior to that, she served as Staff Attorney at the Mental Hygiene Legal Services in the First Department. Kaylin was Judicial Intern to the Honorable Dolores K. Sloviter, United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the Honorable Milton Tingling, Supreme Court for the State of New York, New York County.

Kaylin is a very active in the legal community: she chairs the New York City Bar Association (CityBar) Professional Discipline Committee; she is a member of the CityBar Council on the Profession Committee and the Litigation Funding Task Force; she sits on the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) Nomination Committee and Committee of Bar Leaders.  Kaylin has also served in various other roles at multiple Bar Associations including as: President of the Association of Black Women Attorneys (ABWA), Board member of the National Bar Association Board of Governors, member of the Board of Advisors for the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) Ethics Compendium, Secretary of the Ethics and Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee for the AILA New York Chapter, member of the Network of Bar Leaders (NOBL) Executive Council; NYSBA's House of Delegates, Committee on Professional Ethics, and Committee on Leadership Development. 

Additionally, Kaylin served as Board member of the Board of Directors at Unique People Services, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving individuals with developmental disabilities, mental illness, and HIV/AIDS. She is featured in the book and world exhibit—200 Women: Who Will Change The Way You See The World-- a Book and World Exhibit by Blackwell&Ruth, New Zealand; and is the recipient of the 2016 Black Women of Influence (BWOI) Trailblazer Award, 2017 Association of Black Women Attorneys Achievement Award and 2018 National Bar Association Presidential Award. Guided by her mantra: "Inspire. Empower. Engage"—Kaylin advocates for women rights, immigrants, victims of domestic violence, and the mentally ill.

 Kaylin is a frequent continuing legal education (CLE) Speaker at Bar Associations, law firms, and other organizations. Today, she pursues parallel careers as an attorney and as an associate real estate broker at Douglas Elliman.
