Hillary Blout is the Founder and Executive Director of For The People. Hillary drafted and secured the passage of AB 2942 in California, the first Prosecutor-Initiated Resentencing (PIR) law in the country. With Hillary’s leadership, For The People is the national expert on PIR implementation and legislation. Hillary spent six years as a prosecutor for the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office, led statewide efforts to increase access to post-conviction legal remedies, and ran the statewide implementation of Proposition 47, which  promotes second chances for thousands of individuals previously convicted of lower-level felonies.
