Herald Price Fahringer has tried cases in 27 states and has briefed and/or argued more than 400 appeals, including 15 in the United States Supreme Court. He is a former General Counsel to the First Amendment Lawyers Association. And, in 1979, he received the Legal Defense of Freedom of the Press Award, from the New York Press Club. His Law Day speech, given in 1998, was voted the best in the nation by the American Bar Association. In 1999, he received the Outstanding Practitioner Award from the Criminal Justice Section of the New York State Bar Association. In 1995, he received the New York State Association of Criminal Defense Lawyer’s Thurgood Marshall Award for outstanding contribution to the criminal law.
