Biography

Mr. Guardaro is a recognized leader in appellate practice in New York and the surrounding  areas and have briefed and argued hundreds of appeals, both interlocutory and post verdict, involving a diverse assortment of issues and topics. He has appeared and argued  before both State and Federal courts, on issues involving insurance coverage, land use,  professional liability and complex commercial disputes. Some of the appeals he has  briefed and argued have broken new ground in the areas of insurance coverage,  municipal rights, and civil procedure.  

Mr. Guardaro is a graduate Fordham College and Fordham University School of Law, and  a former member of the staff of the New York State Appellate Division, First Department,  where he served as law assistant to the Court. He also formerly served as special counsel  to the New York City Health & Hospitals Corporation, handling special appellate and  litigation matters for its Medical Liability Unit and is currently a contributing editor of the  treatise “New York Medical Malpractice,” (Revised Edition) Bard & Gaier.  

He is a Lecturer, principle and guest speaker on issues such as appellate practice,  insurance coverage, complex litigation, municipal road use and liability and other  commercial litigation issues. He has also been a multi-day guest Lecturer at the New York  State Judicial Institute seminars and Statewide Televised Lecture at Lunch series.  

Mr. Guardaro works with a diverse set of clients including major international corporations  and Insurance Carriers. He also acts as local counsel to out of area international firms.
