Biography

As a labor and employment attorney in the Richmond, Virginia office of the firm Ford Harrison, LLP, Brendan provides advice and counsel to employers of all sizes in various industries, including representing Virginia universities and staffing, manufacturing, healthcare, and construction companies. His practice includes advising on difficult employment issues regarding anti-discrimination laws (Title VII, Americans with Disabilities Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Virginia Human Rights Act), wage and hour laws (Fair Labor Standards Act, Virginia Wage Payment Act), workplace safety standards (OSHA and VOSH), and trade secrets/restrictive covenant disputes.  Brendan also regularly presents workplace training, conducts complex workplace investigations, and drafts employment policies and contracts for his clients.

Brendan is also an experienced litigator.  He regularly represents clients before state and federal courts, as well as administrative agencies on both the state and federal level.  Prior to joining FordHarrison, Brendan gained extensive civil litigation experience with large national firms.  Earlier in his legal career, Brendan served on active duty as a Judge Advocate, assigned as both a Trial Counsel (Prosecutor) and Defense Counsel.  With U.S. Navy, Brendan has litigated more than twenty courts-martial and fifty administrative hearings.  Brendan currently serves as a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy Reserve.
