Overview
Wellness law is a combination of health law, employee benefits law, and labor/employment law. Knowledge of all three areas of practice is critical to helping clients who provide wellness services. In this program, taught by Barbara Zabawa, Founder and President of the Center for Health and Wellness Law, LLC, lawyers interested in serving wellness clients, such as health coaches, alternative medicine providers, and workplace wellness companies, will learn about the legal issues that most commonly affect those wellness stakeholders. Attendees will learn about federal laws such as the Affordable Care Act, Health Information Portability and Accountability Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act, Fair Labor Standards Act and state scope of practice and licensing laws, and how those laws play an important role in wellness service delivery.
