Overview

This program will discuss common issues in the construction industry from contracting to payment issues. The program will discuss specific contract provisions unique to construction such as the use of change orders and construction change directives, and evolving issues such as the applicability of "pay if paid" provisions. Issues related to payment issues will be addressed including the use of mechanic's liens to secure payment for work performed. Additionally, we will discuss key differences between private construction projects and those performed for government entities.

This program will benefit attorneys of all levels as well as paralegals and other support staff who are involved in legal research, litigation, contract review and negotiation, and bidding of construction projects. The topics discussed will have broad applicability to a variety of construction projects.  Additionally, information will be provided regarding the avoidance of conflicts of interest when representing multiple parties.
