Overview

There are many different kinds of immigration issues, including work, student, and tourist visas, asylum claims, legal permanent residents, and out-of-status visitors. None of these buckets have been untouched by rapid changes to immigration policy under the current administration. From changes to the USCIS Mission Statement to a proliferation of workplace raids, immigration practitioners - and all attorneys with clients impacted by immigration policy, including labor and employment lawyers - have needed to stay on their toes at all times.

In this program, Jackson Lewis principal Amy Peck will review recent changes to immigration policies, with a focus on employer-side issues that practitioners should be watching for in the next year, including H-1B visa changes, no-match letters, issues with treaty employees, and the industries most likely to be targeted by immigration audits.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Review changes in immigration policy with predictions for the future
  2. Discuss the impact of immigration policies on employers in specific industries
  3. Protect your clients from USCIS penalties
