This program, presented by Trisha Rich and Trisha Thompson of Holland & Knight, will discuss the common ethical, contractual, and fiduciary risks to lawyers and law firms associated with lateral transitions - which can include single lawyers, groups of lawyers, or entire firms merging together. The panel will discuss the various issues that arise in such transactions and will examine risks for the lawyers, the old law firms, and the acquiring law firms. The panel will also discuss new ethics opinions, rules, and case law from the last several years. This program will be helpful to both lawyers and law firms as they consider the risks and obligations related to moving firms.
