Overview

This program is designed by practitioners to take the fear out of the multi-prong attack that is a congressional investigation. The program will discuss how to prepare your client for dealing with the invasive nature of an investigation, all while handling the public scrutiny that distinguishes a congressional investigation from a regulatory or law enforcement one. The presentation will deal with real world practicalities and discuss the inner workings of the congressional/DOJ, congressional/regulatory agency, and congressional/state investigation multi-headed monsters; how to identify the different inflection points; and how to bring your client out on the other side with their business, freedom, and reputation intact.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Identify the types of issues that lead to congressional investigations and how to maneuver between committees and other investigative agencies

  2. Predict investigations and prepare for them before they happen

  3. Develop a plan in place that makes an inevitable investigation more easily contained

  4. Prepare your organization or client for investigations and establish procedures and processes that allow for a more seamless transition into an active investigation without putting the business systems into crisis
