Overview
How do we strengthen lawyers' capacity to create positive change for themselves, their clients, and the world? It starts with cultivating compassion. Compassion is wishing for the long-term well-being of self and others. It is also a non-stress response to suffering.
In this program, attendees will learn what compassion is and what the latest research about compassion suggests. What are the psychological and physiological effects of compassion? How does compassion change the body and brain? Importantly, why does it lead to our success as a community of legal professionals?
Attendees will receive tools that even very busy lawyers can use to practice compassion daily both through formal practice and on the go in a way that supports them professionally and personally.
Learning Objectives:
Build stronger client relationships
Create a culture of inclusion within the legal profession
Reduce feelings of anxiety and depression for legal practitioners
Increase collaboration in the legal space
