Overview
This program highlights and describes the steps companies should take to invest in planning for a worst-case cybersecurity scenario. Using the analogy of a fire drill-we all know why we respond to fire drills-the likelihood of a cybersecurity event is far greater, yet it's the rare company that engages in cyber "drills." With descriptions and practical tips for drafting incident response (IR) plans, conducting table-top training with IR teams, and implementing live red-team or purple-team testing, this program will benefit both intermediate and experienced in house counsel and private practice attorneys.
Program advice will include how to and when to engage and / or retain external partners such as forensic experts and PR firms and the critical role government agencies such as the FBI and CISA can play as members of the IR team. Building those relationships with external partners in advance ensures that everyone will know one another well enough to be ready, willing, and able to work together when the inevitable incident happens.
Learning Objectives:
Review the critical role of preparation and planning before the cyber attack happens
Examine the elements in a basic Incident Response (IR) Plan
Identify and train the internal IR team
Discuss the limitations of in-house IT teams
Discover how to leverage relationships with the FBI & CISA
