Overview

Copyrights provide their owners with protection for "original works of authorship fixed in any tangible medium of expression."  But how is this playing out in the courts, and what issues within the copyright field have received extra attention this year?

This program will feature a presentation reviewing key developments in copyright law between October 2021 and October 2022. The presenters will provide summaries of recent case law and will explain the interesting portions and potential implications of each case. This program is geared towards intellectual property practitioners with at least an elementary knowledge of copyright law.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Explore select copyright developments between October 2021 and October 2022

  2. Identify the important takeaways from highlighted copyright law decisions

  3. Discuss how the selected cases fit within the courts' evolving copyright jurisprudence
