2023 Employment Law Update

Federal, state, and local laws impacting employers have continued to evolve in numerous areas, touching on nearly all aspects of employment. In particular, the hiring process has been impacted by an expansion of pay equity laws, increased regulations on the use of restrictive covenants, and recent EEOC guidance relating to artificial intelligence. The National Labor Relations Board has issued a number of notable decisions that impact both unionized and non-unionized workplaces. There have been noteworthy updates concerning non-discrimination protections, worker classification analysis, marijuana regulation, wage-related issues, and more. And (of course) additional legislative action is coming! Understanding these updates, trends, and their impacts is of great importance when advising employers on many key areas of employment law.
