Busy Lawyers May Now Take CLE Courses Online at Select Gyms

NYC -- New York State lawyers must now take up to 32 hours of Continuing Legal Education (CLE) courses*. For attorneys who have not complied and want to multi-task the courses, enter LAWLINE.COM, where lawyers can listen to and watch courses online in gyms with Internet access.

Following is a handy list of health clubs with audio/visual Internet access on equipment, such as stair-steppers, treadmills and stationary bicycles:

  • Crunch Fitness (6 locations)
  • Manhattan Plaza Health Club
  • The Sports Club LA
The following facilities will have audio and visual Internet access in a few months (some have visual but not yet audio):
  • Athletic and Swim Club at Equitable Center
  • The Fitness Company at the World Trade Center
  • New York Sports Club, 151 E. 86th St.
  • New York Health and Racquet Club, 24 E. 13th St.
  • David Barton Gym (both locations)

*The CLE requirement was instituted in New York State in January of 1999 and lawyers have two years in which to comply.
