Lawline.com to Produce Online Audio Programs on Computer-Based
Discovery
NYC, - Lawline.com, a leading online broadcaster of law-related
educational programming, will produce a series of online expert
interviews on the discovery of computer-based evidence in civil
litigation.
The programs will be available to all federal judges as well as
to all lawyers and to the public on Lawline.com (www.lawline.com).
The audio programs will also be made available by the Federal Judicial
Center (FJC) in Washington DC, the research and education agency
of the United States Courts, to members of the federal judiciary,
and to federal court staff.
Ken Withers, a research associate at the FJC and an expert on computer-based
(also called "electronic" or "digital") discovery, will host a series
of six half-hour programs; Ron Diorio of Lawline.com will serve
as executive producer. Each discovery program, beginning July 5,
will cover a relevant issue in this emerging field with a guest
judge, attorney, or technology expert. Topics will range from "Computer-Based
Discovery: A View From the Bench" and "Email and Internet Use in
Employment Litigation" to "An Ounce of Prevention: Electronic Records
Management."
Significant legal cases involving computer-based discovery will
be cited, with links to relevant sections of the Federal Rules of
Civil Procedure and other background resources available online.
